A mere nine weeks ago, my life was peaceful...quiet...orderly.
Then, the kittens arrived.
Now, my life is kind of like a game show.
The babies have grown, and they can leap to anywhere in a single bound.
Nickelodeon should take notes.
My morning begins with all three galloping up the stairs.
They rush into my room, jump across my desk,
and greet my with purrs and kisses.
Then, the fun really begins, as I attempt to make a cup of coffee.
Suddenly, the kitchen counter turns into a playground.
There is nothing on earth as fascinating as running water.
Cleaning the litter is also fascinating.
All three gather to climb in it, sit in it, and walk around it.
Then, all three move to the sink where -
you guessed it -
there is running water.
The remainder of the morning, I try to do chores
while they tear about the livingroom.
They have a long kitty tube in the livingroom.

As human beings, we like to believe that we are reliably rational and logical. Yet, throughout history, we have repeatedly engaged in behaviours that are contrary to our best interests, as evidenced by varying degrees of conflict, violence, and warfare. We are not the logical creature we idealize ourselves to be. As a point of comparison, recent
